Automatically Loading DiscoverSim with Excel

Can I set DiscoverSim to automatically load with Excel?

You can set DiscoverSim up to load automatically every time you launch Excel using Excel's Add-ins options.  The process is slightly different depending on which version of Excel you have.

Excel 2013:

Click the File button in the top left corner of Microsoft Excel

Select Options on the menu that pops up

In the Excel Options window, select Add-ins in the left-hand menu, and in the right hand window, click the Go button beside "Excel Add-ins".

In the Add-Ins window that opens, select Browse.

Navigate to DiscoverSim's installation directory (by default: C:\Program Files(x86)\SigmaXL\DiscoverSim)select the file DiscoverSim.xlam and press OK.

Excel 2010:

Click the File button and select Options

In the Excel Options window, select Add-ins in the left-hand menu, and in the right hand window, click the Go button beside "Excel Add-ins".


In the Add-Ins window that opens, select Browse.

Navigate to DiscoverSim's installation directory (by default: C:\Program Files\SigmaXL\DiscoverSim)select the file DiscoverSim.xlam and press OK.

Excel 2007:

1. Click the Office Button:


2. Select Excel Options:

In the Excel Options window, select Add-Ins in the left-hand menu, and in the right hand window, click the Go button beside "Excel Add-ins".

In the Add-Ins window that opens, select Browse.

Navigate to DiscoverSim's installation directory (by default: C:\Program Files\SigmaXL\DiscoverSim), select the file DiscoverSim.xlam and press OK.

Alternative Method for all versions of Excel:

1.) Use Windows Explorer to navigate to DiscoverSim's installation directory (by default: C:\Program Files\SigmaXL\DiscoverSim)

2.) Copy the following files and folders :

          
• DiscoverSim.xlam
          
• DiscoverSim_Ribbon.xlam
          
• The folder called "SXL_Stats"
          
• SigmaXL.xla

3.) Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\

In this folder, you will have different folders depending on your version:

Excel 2013: Folder is "Office15"

Excel 2010: Folder is "Office14"

Excel 2007: Folder is "Office12"

Navigate to the folder appropriate for your version, and paste the DiscoverSim files you copied in Step 2 into the "XLSTART" folder.
